Dan Ryan express lanes reopen after man threatens to jump

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Northbound express lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway were closed off Sunday afternoon while emergency crews worked to detain a man threatening to jump onto the expressway.

Express lanes were closed between 57th and 67th street about 4:30 p.m. as a man threatened to jump near the 55th Street overpass, according to Illinois State Police.

Lanes were reopened about 5:45 p.m.

Service on the CTA Red Line was temporarily suspended between the 47th Street and 69th Street stations about 3:30 p.m. while emergency crews responded, according to the CTA.
