Navy to create swat style teams to respond to active shooter situations

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON - The Navy is kicking in to high gear plans to create swat style teams that could respond to active shooter situations.

This news comes nearly two months after the Navy Yard shooting that killed 12 people.

The new head of the NCIS tells the Navy Times that the massacre is a clear indicator that security at navy and marine bases needs to improve.

Andrew Traver says he doesn't doubt that there will be more mass shooting threats in the future.
