Turn your leftover pumpkin into a fall floral centerpiece: Rochelle Trotter
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
After the trip to the pumpkin patch, the carving parties and trick-or-treating is over, what do you do with all those pumpkins?
Lifestyle expert Rochelle Trotter explained how to make the most of these Halloween leftovers, like creating a fall floral arrangement.
Re-purposed Pumpkin Centerpiece
Wipe pumpkin clean of any debris
Using a skewer (or screw) make holes all over the pumpkin in alternating horizontal lines
Insert flowers into the holes, filling in with extra flowers where there are gaps
Arrangement should last 5-7 days
NOTE: This is for a pumpkin which has NOT been carved. If you have carved your pumpkin it is best to use aluminum foil to "enclose the openings" and the begin at Step 2, noting that the areas which have been cut will need extra attention to ensure the flowers hold in place.
