One witness tells Fox 2 she saw ambulances rushing to the scene, children wrapped in blankets, and people being taken away on stretchers. It happened Sunday night during the last round of the camp's Halloween weekends event. Sources tell Fox 2 a side rail fell off the wagon allowing passengers to slide off during the ride. Five victims were taken to Providence Park Hospital in Novi, three others went to Huron Valley Sinai in Commerce Township. All had minor injuries.

Several people sounded off on the Fox 2 Facebook page after learning about the accident. Several said drivers were going too fast and the hayride is dangerous.

In a Facebook statement, Camp Dearborn says most passengers were treated at the campground and there were no problems with other hayrides.

The statement reads: "This evening an incident occurred during a hayride at Camp Dearborn. There were injuries to some participants. Most were treated on site and have since left the campground. Additional participants were alert yet transported via ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Later scheduled hayrides proceeded without issue."
