Garfield Park, South Shore Cultural Center to get free Wi-Fi

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Two of Chicago's most popular park spaces will soon be equipped with free Wi-Fi.

Garfield Park and the South Shore Cultural Center will be sites of a new internet service sponsored by Google.

Last month, City Council approved a plan to acquire more than eight miles of fiber optic cable to support broadband infrastructure expansion throughout Chicago.

Free Wi-Fi is already available at five city beaches and Millennium Park.
