DETROIT (WJBK) -

Ronda McIntosh was awoken at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday by a man pounding on her front door.

"He was banging so loud - I jumped up. My heart was pounding," she tells Fox 2's Amy Lange. "He was standing there with his hands bound behind his back with a zip tie. He had on boxers and a small t-shirt and that was it. He was just hollering for help."

The 33-year-old man said he needed help because he had just been carjacked. He says he was stopped at a stop sign near Hessel Avenue and Vaughn Street in Detroit, coming home from a friend's house. He was checking his phone when " a guy stuck his gun in the window and he told me, 'Don't move! Don't do anything!' Then another guy came from the other side, pulled a gun and he jumped in the passenger's seat, and then told me to jump in the back. They stripped my pants down; stripped all my clothes down."

The victim also says the suspects took $2,500 cash, his gold bracelet and watch. They then covered him with laundry he had in the back of his vehicle and, he says, he could barely breathe.

"I started to suffocate almost and I kept telling them to take the sheets, or whatever, off my head because I can't breathe."

The men then drove the victim's vehicle and stopped at Norfolk and Hubbell streets. The victim says he heard the guys get out of the van and leave. He then managed to open the door - hands still tied behind his back - and exited the vehicle, going straight to McIntosh's home where he got help.

"Yelling - 'Help! Help!' - just in a panic. He was kicking the door because it sounded so loud, and his hands were bound so that's probably the only way he could knock," McIntosh explains.

McIntosh called police and officers arrived right away. If anyone has any information contact the Detroit Police Departments
