Chicago's Most Wanted: Chase Bank robber

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

With security cameras everywhere in banks, you might think that would discourage would-be robbers. But here's a case of someone who did not seem to care about the cameras during a holdup.

The robbery happened at the Chase Bank branch at 3200 South Chicago Road in South Chicago Heights.

In the middle of the afternoon on July 2, a man walked into the bank, handed the teller a note and demanded money. He said he had a gun, but never displayed one. After getting money he fled the bank on foot.

The picture shows him seeming rather casual about the holdup, leaning on the counter, and showing no concern for the security camera which captured a pretty good image of him.

FBI agents hope someone sees the photo and recognizes the man. They have exhausted all current leads, and it appears the robber has not struck again, so agents are seeking additional information from the public.

The FBI is offering a reward for information that helps it identify and arrest the man responsible for this robbery.

Here is the FBI's description of the man behind the South Chicago Heights robbery:

  • black male
  • 30's
  • about 6'0"
  • medium build
  • bald
  • brown eyes.

He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, or know who he is, you are asked to call police.
