4 sentenced in beating death of ex-Ga. Marine

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Four men have been sentenced to 30 years in prison in the beating death of an ex-Marine who served twice in Iraq.

Investigators have said 34-year-old Zach Gamble was punched in the face and kicked by four men in the parking lot of a Marietta apartment complex in March 2012.

Gamble was found lying unconscious by a taxi driver who accidentally ran over his leg about 40 minutes after he was left lying unconscious. He was taken off of life support about two weeks later.

Officials say 37-year-old Tarell Secrest of Marietta, 38-year-old Arthur Batchelor of Acworth, 36-year-old Jason Hill of Marietta, and 39-year-old Sean Hall of Atlanta were charged with voluntary manslaughter and aggravated battery.

Authorities say the men must each serve 20 years of their sentence in prison.
