The Cakeria's pumpkin flan

Get this recipe courtesy of April Forbes from The Cakeria, the winner of Food Network's 2012 'Cupcake Wars.'

Forbes will be part of judging team during a pumpkin baking competition at the Village of Rochester Hills this month. Learn more about it here.
 
Ingredients:
4 oz. Sugar
3 Eggs
3/4 Pumpkin
5 oz. Evaporated milk
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
1/4 tsp. Ginger
1 tsp. Vanilla

Method:
1. Melt 4 oz. Sugar until golden brown in a pan being careful not to over burn your sugar.
2. Pour sugar into bottom of a 8 inch cake pan.
3. Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over sugar in cake pan.
4. Bake at 325 for 40 mins in a water bath.
5. Invert on a dish after 10 mins.
6. Refrigerate and serve cold, with whipped cream or a la mode.
