Robin Quivers survives cancer, writes book

Posted: Updated:
MYFOXNY.COM - Robin Quivers, radio personality and longtime sidekick to Howard Stern, beat cancer.

She returned to the radio waves last week after a 17-month absence.

Quivers used the time off-air to finish her new book, 'The Vegucation of Robin.'

"The whole time I was going through this, I looked fine. There was no indication, but I was very tired. (I felt) this incredible fatigue and I didn’t know what it was," said Quivers.

Stern stepped in, big time, said his 32-year long sidekick when she finally told him she had cancer.

Stern offered "the best of everything" for Quivers throughout her surgery and follow-up treatments.

The new book was a work in progress when Quivers was diagnosed with uterine cancer.

"The Vegucation of Robin started before all this happened. I had been through other health issues years ago. I changed my diet. I learned to really eat for me. I regained my health. I became a person who could barely walk a block to one who could run a marathon," said Quivers who is a vegan.

You can meet Quivers this week at two locations where she'll be signing copies of 'The Vegucation of Robin.'

The U.S. Open is underway in Queens and there's no denying that many of the players, both men and women, are in great physical shape and know how to play that up. Women are particularly promoted in the industry as attractive, fashionable and fiercely competitive. Does that help the game and draw more people in?

They helped me select a look from examples on the app and they encouraged me to tweak the looks to fit my style.

A new reality show is bringing a sense of urgency to your television screen. The show 'The Singles Project' is shot Wednesday- Saturday and airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on Bravo. “That's what makes the show different. We're filming in real-time. We're really on a roller coaster and it's off the rails. The social media part is just another layer,” said Joey Healy, eyebrow stylist to the stars. Healy, Lee Gause, Tabazum Mir and Kerry Cassidy are among the cast members.
