MUNDELEIN, Ill. (Associated Press) -

Bond was set at $5 million for a Chicago man accused of abducting a 3-year-old girl.

Jose Reyes was charged Thursday with kidnapping and unlawful restraint, and is being held in the Lake County jail.

Mundelein Police Chief Eric Guenther said the girl was doing well, but police are awaiting medical test results.

Authorities say the girl was taken Monday evening, adding a witness identified Reyes as a man seen earlier handing out candy to children in the area.

Reyes is accused of snatching the girl as she walked with her mother and sister to their condo and putting her into his vehicle. Guenther says a security camera later saw him return the girl to the condominium complex 30 minutes later. He said surveillance video led authorities to Reyes.
