CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Humanitarian worker Dr. Babs Waldman and photographer Marek Hosek discussed mission work being done in Haiti and the Dominican Republic under the Rush Global Health Program with Dr. Mona Khanna on Good Day Chicago Wednesday morning.

The third annual Art for Health gala is on Friday, Oct. 4 at Ignite Glass Studio, which is located at 401 North Armour Street, Chicago, IL 60642.

The work of three artists, who have been with the medical team on trips to the DR and/or Haiti, along with work from other local and Haitian artists, will be on display this year.

About 350 people attended the gala last year, and more are expected this year.

Aside from the small budget for expenses, all the money raised is usually used for direct services. This year, the proceeds will be used to fund the first global health fellow through the Rush Global Health Program.
