CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Chicago police and fire rushed to the intersection of Michigan and Van Buren after a suspicious package was found at a downtown Metra station Wednesday morning. It was secured by 8:15 a.m.

The Chicago Police Bomb and Arson Unit investigated the discovery at the Van Buren Metra Station.

All Metra Electric trains were stopped near the Van Buren station. All inbound South Shore trains headed for the last three stops on the line were also halted, in an area that stretches from Michigan Avenue to Columbus Street.

Jackson Boulevard was closed from Columbus Drive to Michigan Avenue.

A Level 1 HazMat was called after the 6:50 a.m. report, and the two right lanes were blocked on the northbound side of Michigan Ave. as emergency crews investigated.

FOX 32 News will update this story as details develop.
