ST. CHARLES, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A west suburban woman had three sexual encounters with a male juvenile who was in custody at the Illinois Youth Center where she worked as a contractor, the Beacon-News is reporting.

A Kane County grand jury indicted 25-year-old Alexa Rubin last week on four counts of custodial sexual misconduct for acts that allegedly took place in February and April, as well as in October 2012.

Rubin surrendered to the Kane County Sheriff's Dept. on Sept. 26 and was released after posting the required bond 10 percent of a $25,000 bond, officials said.

According to the indictment, Rubin had sex with, and performed a sex act on, the boy on Feb. 14, at the youth facility in St. Charles. They also had sex in April and she performed a sex act on him last year.

Prosecutors said the Illinois Department of Corrections investigated claims against Rubin and brought its finding to the Kane County State's Attorney's office, which did not elaborate on the charges.

The Department of Juvenile Justice said in a Monday statement that Rubin worked as a substance abuse counselor for about two-and-a-half years at IYC St. Charles. Rubin, who resigned in June, was affiliated with a Downstate non-profit that provides drug and alcohol treatment, and contracts with the department.

IYC-St. Charles, which first opened in 1904, houses an average of 328 boys and processes the "majority" into Department of Juvenile Justice custody, according to its website.

Rubin is schedule to appear in court later this month.
