DETROIT (AP) -- Zipcar Inc. is making a significant expansion to the number of vehicles in its Detroit car sharing network.

The company announced Wednesday that up to 40 vehicles will be available after earlier having a smaller number of cars for use in the city.

Zipcar will offer a variety of vehicles in Detroit, including a Ford Escape named "Martius", a Ford Focus called "Motor City" and a Ford Mustang dubbed "Belle Isle." Most of the cars in the Zipcar Detroit fleet will be from Dearborn-based Ford Motor Co.

The vehicles will be located across the city in public and private lots and garages in neighborhoods, including downtown, New Center and Woodbridge.

Zipcar vehicles also available at Wayne State University and the College for Creative Studies.
