Woman hit by pellet gun sniper, Lincoln Park PD haven't filed report

Posted: Updated:
LINCOLN PARK, Mich. (WJBK) -

Nadine Zborowski was pumping gas Friday morning on Southfield Rd. just north of I-75 when she was hit by something. She explains the experience to Fox 2's Randy Wimbley: "As I was walking, all of a sudden I felt something that rocked me back on my heels, and immediately I felt pain." She looked down and all she saw was red - her own blood.

Zborowski drove herself to Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn where she soon found out she was hit with a pea-sized pellet. She recovered in the hospital and, when she was discharged, says the hospital's head of security approached her. The employee told Zborowski a police report still has not been filed because Lincoln Park police never came to the hospital to do so.

Fox 2 could not get in contact with Lincoln Park's police chief, but an officer told us unless an injury is severe, Lincoln Park police do not respond to hospital calls. This information frustrates Zborowski, who wants something to be done before someone else gets hurt.

"[The shooter is] going to continue this charade, or this game ,of shooting innocent people and God forbid somebody dies as a result of it," Zborowski tells Wimbley. She adds that doctors told her she could have lost an eye if the shooter had aimed a little higher.

Nadine believes someone fired the pellet gun from a car on Southfield Rd., and plans to file a police report once her injury heals.
