No charges filed in alleged sexual assaults at Benedictine University

LISLE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

No criminal charges will be filed in connection with an alleged sexual assault in a dorm room at Benedictine University in west suburban Lisle.

Lisle police officials said they were contacted by the Benedictine University Police Department Sept. 15 to provide assistance with a sexual assault investigation.

According to the Benedictine University Police Department, two females were allegedly assaulted in a campus dormitory. One of the females was a Benedictine University student, and the male subjects allegedly involved in the incident were also Benedictine University students.

The Lisle Police Department met with the two females at Edward Hospital in Naperville and several male subjects at the Lisle Police Department to discuss the events that took place.

However, a review by Lisle Police and the DuPage County State's Attorney's office determined there was "insufficient evidence to pursue criminal charges in the alleged sexual assaults," Lisle police said in a release Tuesday.

There is no ongoing threat to public safety, the release said
