DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

"All we did was trust in you - a man of the law."

Those are the words Geoffrey Townsend heard in court today, spoken by the mother of one of his victims. Her daughter attended a boot camp for troubled teens. That's where the daughter says she was forced to have sex with Townsend, the man running the camp who is also a former Detroit police officer.

The abuse began when the victim was only 13-years-old. She says she was forced to have sex with him at least 50 times. Another young teenager says she experienced the same abuse from Townsend.

Townsend was sentenced Monday to 10 - 15 years in jail, despite his attorney's plea for the judge to reflect on the good Townsend had accomplished with his camp.

The judge says she acknowledged that good, but that it was canceled out by the bad. She tells Townsend in court: "You had taken an oath to serve and protect, and you neither served nor protected."

Townsend was convicted of criminal sexual conduct with those two teenage girls but three other victims also testified during trial.
