LAKE FOREST, Ill. (Associated Press) -

The Chicago Bears say former Pro Bowl cornerback Allan Ellis has died. He was 62.

A fifth-round draft pick out of UCLA in 1973, Ellis had 22 interceptions over seven seasons with the Bears. He spent his final year in the league with San Diego in 1981.

Ellis became the first Bears cornerback to be selected to the Pro Bowl in 1977, when he matched his career high with six interceptions.
