It's official. Northville's Amy Yakima is American's favorite female dancer.

The 19-year-old took home the title Tuesday during the finale of FOX's 'So You Think You Can Dance' competition.

Yakima is the first Michigan resident to win the title, along with its $125,000 prize.

Yakima beat out Jasimine Harper, a contemporary dancer. Her male counterpart, Fik-Shun, took home the male title, beating out Aaron Turner.

This is the second time the show's 10-year history that the audience picked a male and female winner.

Yakima stopped by FOX 2 over the summer to talk about her experience on the show. Click here to watch full interview.
