Firefighters put out extra-alarm blaze in Wrigleyville

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire that broke out in the North Side Wrigleyville neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

A second alarm was called for the blaze in a 2-1/2-story frame building the 3600 block of North Wayne Avenue about 12:45 p.m., Fire Media Affairs said.

The fire also spread to an adjacent building to the north, Fire Media said.

As of 1:19 p.m., Fire Media reported that the fire was extinguished, and no injuries have been reported.
