Police issue warning after recent Chicago Lawn business burglaries

Police are searching for a man they believe is behind a series of recent burglaries at businesses in the Southwest Side Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

According to an alert warning Chicago Lawn residents and businesses of the recent break-ins, the man breaks through glass doors in order to get into the businesses that he robs. Since Aug. 6, the following burglaries have been reported:

--Aug. 6 during the overnight hours in the 2900 block of West 59th Street.

--Aug. 24 during the overnight hours in the 3700 block of West 63rd Street.

--Aug. 28 during the overnight hours in the 3700 block of West 63rd Street.

--Sept. 3 during the evening hours in the 6100 block of South Western Avenue.

The burglar is described as a white or Hispanic man between 20 and 36 years old, who stands 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 tall, and weighs 150 to 200 pounds. He has black hair with a tail in the back, police said.
