Former Birmingham mayor charged with possession methamphetamine

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (WJBK) -

The former mayor of Birmingham, Seth Chafetz, was arraigned on one count of possession of methamphetamine/ecstasy, a 10-year felony.

The arrest came following an investigation by Oakland County Narcotics.

Police are also looking for Brian Brooks, a man believed to be Chafetz's accomplice. Police say he ran away at the scene before they were able to arrest him.
