CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A Chicago man has been charged with illegally selling four guns, one of which ended up in the hands of a convicted felon, according to police.

Jevon Standback, 25, was charged Thursday with four counts of unlawful selling of a firearm and four counts of illegal transfer of a firearm, according to a statement from the Cook County Sheriff's office.

An investigation began when a convicted felon was injured in a crash July 24 after attempting to flee sheriff's police during a traffic stop in Harvey, the statement said.

A MAC-11 semi-automatic pistol recovered from his vehicle was entered into the ATF database for tracing and came back registered to Standback, the statement said.

Sheriff's police learned Standback allegedly sold four guns he had purchased in Florida, including the pistol, to four different people in March near 101st Street and Eggleston.

No documentation was made of the sales, and the buyers did not present FOID cards, the statement said.

Standback was expected to appear in court Friday.
