City offers cash reward for residents who report fly dumping

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Chicago is cracking down on fly dumping--when people, often contractors, illegally dump garbage on a vacant lot, then take off.

Now, the city is offering a cash reward for residents who report it. If a person is caught illegally dumping, the resident who turned them in gets $100.

Officials say if you see fly dumping, call 311. If you have a cell phone and snap a picture, you're asked to send it to police.
