Minimum wage fight, `fat shaming,` `Sweet Lorraine,` dating advice: Chat Room

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

On Tuesday's Chat Room, Sun-Times Splash Editor Susanna Negovan and Good Day Chicago anchor Anna Davlantes discussed Rep. Jan Schakowsky's criticism of McDonald's CEO Donald Thompson's salary amidst the minimum wage workers' fight for $15 with FOX 32's Anita Padilla.

The ladies also discussed "fat shaming," a shocking new trend at clothing stores. An Oregon teen hoping to celebrate her birthday with a perfume purchase from Rue 21 was asked to leave the store because she was "too big."

The ladies recognized a 96-year-old Peoria man who wrote a love song for his late wife of 75-years. "Sweet Lorraine" has sold over 100,000 copies since Jacob Colgan and a production team helped Fred Stobought take his song from the page to iTunes. Licensing offers have reached $100,000.

They also discussed the latest film news about best-selling "mommy porn" sensation "50 Shades of Grey." Author E.L. James announced on Twitter that Dakota Johnson will play Anastasia Steele and Charlie Hunnam will play Christian Grey. Johnson is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson and Hunnam stars in the hit-series "Sons of Anarchy."

Smart Dating Academy founder Bela Gandhi and Six Brown Chicks founder Zondra Hughes joined the Chat Room to discuss advice on surviving break-ups, six questions you need to ask yourself before letting a new man baby sit your child, a new app for women who just want to have sex called "Pure," an app that does the exact opposite called "Platonic Partners" and avoiding the consequences of a tarnished networking relationship.
