CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 16-year-old boy was critically hurt and another man was wounded in a shooting Monday evening in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 5:30 p.m. in the 10500 block of South LaSalle Street, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said.

A 16-year-old boy was critically wounded and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to Fire Media Affairs.

He had been shot in the chest, O'Brien said.

A man in his 20s was also wounded, suffering a graze wound, O'Brien said. He refused medical treatment and is not cooperating with police.

Police later arrested a possible suspect who was hiding nearby, in the 300 block of West 106th Place, O'Brien said.
