Remembering JFK: Hugh Aynesworth

Posted: Updated:

As the 50th Anniversary of the JFK assassination approaches, Fox 4 News continues to tell stories through the eyes of North Texans who witnessed history.

This week it is celebrated journalist Hugh Aynesworth. When shots were fired in Dealey Plaza, Hugh was there. When police officer J. D. Tippit was shot, he was among the first on the scene.

The arrest of Lee Harvey Oswald at the Texas Theatre happened right in front of him. And when Jack Ruby shot Oswald, again, Hugh Aynesworth was just a few feet away.

It's a story that has followed him for five decades of journalism in a celebrated career. And, one he tells in a new book "Witness to History."
