ATLANTA -

Two back-seat passengers are dead after being ejected from a Chevrolet Impala traveling at a high-rate of speed on I-20, near Fulton Industrial Boulevard, Friday.

Police say the person driving the Impala lost control of the car while traveling westbound on I-20. The car flipped, sending the two people in the backseat hurtling out of the car.

The two people riding in the front seat – the driver and passenger – wore their seat belts; with only the driver being seriously injured in the crash. This person was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The section of interstate was closed for several hours and has since re-opened as of 5 a.m. Friday.

Police have not released the names of the people involved in the crash. They also have not commented on any other factors contributing to the crash or if any charges will follow.
