Let It Rip: Detroit's Primary Election and raising fast food minimum wages

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (myFOXDetroit.com) -

Thursday the brakes were put on certifying Detroit's primary election.

D. Etta Wilcoxen brought forth a lawsuit claiming that State of Michigan canvassers do not have the right to tabulate votes in Detroit's mayoral primary election.

An Ingham County judge has since ordered a "stay" in the tabulation of votes until the cause can be shown that canvassers do, in fact, have authority to tabulate.

This means Detroit's votes remain uncertified until at least next Tuesday, when a hearing is scheduled to review the canvassers' authority.
