Study: Flip flops more dangerous to drive in than heels

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Here's another thing that can put you at risk on the road: flip flops. Research shows that they're even more dangerous to drive in than high heels.

If you're wearing flip flops, you are likely to be slower to hit the brakes and your car is likely to travel a few feet father before you stop -- just enough to increase your chances of a fender bender.

A British insurance study found that 1 in 4 drivers say that flip-flops nearly caused an accident.
