Woman missing from Schaumburg health facility found safe

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police in northwest suburban Schaumburg have located an elderly woman who went missing from the health facility where she lives last week.

Agripina Resendiz, 76, was found Tuesday in Hoffman Estates and taken to an area hospital for a check up, police said Tuesday.She is under the guardianship of the state because of a medical condition, and has a court order to live at a Schaumburg health facility.

She was initially reported missing last Wednesday after her son, Armando Resendiz, spent several hours visiting her. Police thought they may have been together.

She has returned to her home in a health care facility, police said Tuesday.
