Police warn residents of Near North Side robberies

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police have issued an alert to warn residents about a series of robberies on the Near North Side over the past month.

Three separate robberies have been reported since July 26, all in the early morning hours and involving two women befriending and then robbing lone men, police said.

The locations, dates and times of the robberies are:

-- 400 block of North Kingsbury about 5:20 a.m. on July 26;

--0-100 block of West Kinzie about 5 a.m. on Aug. 2;

--0-100 block of East Erie about 5:45 a.m. on Aug. 11

The suspects are described as two black women 20-25, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-9 and 100-130 pounds.
