DETROIT (WJBK) -

Everything that happened in an alley outside of a Rite Aid was all wrong. There was a murder there Monday afternoon, and the sound of gunfire sent the sound of silence rushing through the store.

A 49-year-old man, who is said to be a regular customer, was the casualty.

Police arrived quickly, secured the scene and took a long look at the surveillance video. Investigators believe an individual dressed in black shot the man, then ran to a black Chevy Impala and sped away, leaving the victim all alone in the alley at Springwells and West Vernor to die.

Detectives are still trying to determine the motive for the murder. The victim's name is not being released at this time.

If you have any information, contact Detroit Police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
