MCDONOUGH, Ga. -

Henry County authorities are investigating of a drowning in McDonough.  Authorities say a 16-year-old boy went under water along Lake Dow Road just before 5 p.m., and he did not come back up.

Investigators say the teen, who was identified as 16-year-old Benny Davis of Albany, was in town visiting friends when he jumped off a dock and went underwater.  He was found 27 feet from where he jumped in water that was 15 feet deep.

According the Henry County Fire Department Battalion Chief Tommy McClain, the situation was chaotic, and everyone wanted to try and help the boy.  McClain said he wasn't sure if the boy had trouble swimming or got caught on something and couldn't get back to the surface.
