MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WJBK) -

There was a botched break-in at the Shell gas station on 11 Mile and Dequindre.

Madison Heights Police said three men wearing all black and donning ski masks took a cinder block to the door, but did not get inside.

"He tried to break-in, but as soon as he heard the alarm, he took off," said Basem Sallam.

They had better luck three miles north at a Speedway. Inside, police said they swiped cigarettes. The men then got into a light colored Chrysler minivan parked behind the gas station.

Police believe the same men may be behind last week's attempted break-in at the Speedway.

If you have any information, call Madison Heights Police.
