DEARBORN, Mich. (WJBK) -

A dead worker at a Family Dollar store has employees distraught, cops wanting justice and Dearborn desperate for answers.

"I hope they catch these guys that did this and really prosecute them to the max," said Ramona Piccia. "This is just unbearable for the city, just unbearable for all the young kids trying to make a dollar here."

"That's absolutely horrible to think we work and live in this community that something like this would happen so close to home," said Deanna Kalenicki.

Police are looking for a man seen on surveillance video wearing dark blue jeans, white gym shoes and a black hoodie. He waved to someone as he entered the store before walking out of the shot.

Watch the first video report to see the surveillance footage.

When Family Dollar employees arrived to open the store on Tuesday morning, they found it had been trashed. When police arrived later they found out why.

"Our officers responded, and they found an employee shot to death inside the store," said Lieutenant Douglas Topolski.

Police identified the victim as 20-year-old Joseph Orlando. His relatives told us he had started working at the store last week.

In the second video report, Bonnie Orlando remembers her grandson.

Investigators believe his co-worker, 20-year-old Brenna Machus, was also on the job when the shooting took place. She has since gone missing.

"They don't think robbery was a motive. There was some type of an altercation out behind her store. She went out back to find out what was going on, and they believe that's when she was abducted. After the abduction, they went in, they killed the cashier," said Jamie Machus, her father.

"One guy in particular kept making threatening Facebook messages to her. This kid used to come in and harass her at the store, and she'd have to ask him to leave or whatever because he was stoned."

Brenna's father said he does not recognize the man in the surveillance video.

"I'm scared because I know 48 hours is usually the maximum before they find the body," he added.

Dearborn police said Wednesday they'd like to speak with two female customers seen in the store around 7:30 p.m. Monday, just prior to the incident taking place.

Anyone with more information is asked to call Dearborn police at 313-943-2241.
