A little girl - wins a big prize in a national contest for Children's Miracle Network!

The 6-year-old from Royal Oak won 3rd place in a tissue box designing competition for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Allison Hutstedler's artwork appeared on special tissue boxes sold in Wal-Mart in June. Hutstedler drew the picture as part of her occupational therapy at Beaumont Children's Hospital in Royal Oak (the only Children's Miracle Network Hospital in Michigan). Her doctors thought the exercise could improve her fine motor skills. The drawing only took her five minutes, but its third place finish won the hospital a $15,000 cash prize.

White Cloud, a paper product company, produced the tissue boxes and donated the money. Children's Miracle Network Hospitals partnered with White Cloud for the competition.

Allison is the youngest winner in the national competition. The first- and second-place winners are 12 and 14 years old.

Children's Miracle Network is a national alliance of premier hospitals for children. The non-profit organization is dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America. Beaumont has been the only CMN affiliated Children's Miracle Network hospital in Southeast Michigan since 1988. Learn more here:  http://foundation.beaumont.edu/childrens-miracle-network

It's not just the styles that have changed with weddings over the years -- it's also the technology. Disposable cameras used to be the norm, but now there's an even simpler way for the bride and groom to get some candid photos of their special day.
