Missing 19-year-old with brain injury located, returned to hospital

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A missing man believed to be suffering from a brain injury was found and returned to a hospital for further treatment, police announced Monday morning.

Danyieon Sanders, 19, of the 11600 block of South Vincennes Avenue, was found near 12th Street and Wabash Avenue about 12:45 a.m. Sunday with injuries to his head and neck, according to a missing person alert issued by Chicago Police.

Sanders was taken to Rush University Medical Center, where he was treated and later released about 3 a.m. Sunday, police said. It was later discovered that Sanders had suffered an injury that involved bleeding in his brain and he needed to return to the hospital for follow-up treatment.

Police announced Monday that Sanders was located and returned to Rush for further treatment.
