ST. CHARLES, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A youth minister at a northwest suburban church was charged Thursday for allegedly having sexual contact with a minor at the West Dundee church.

Chad A. Coe, 31, of the 500 block of Dundee Avenue in Elgin, was charged with one count of felony criminal sexual assault and one count of felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to a release from the Kane County State's Attorney's office.

Coe, the Director of Youth Ministry at First Congregational Church of Dundee, had sexual contact with the victim at the church between June 10 and June 14, according to the state's attorney's office. The victim was younger than 18 years old at the time.

The victim's mother contacted authorities, prompting the investigation, the state's attorney's office said. Coe was arrested Tuesday evening and is expected to appear for a bond hearing Thursday.

Coe faces between four and 15 years in prison if convicted.
