WAUKEGAN, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two north suburban men with a penchant for copper are being held on $50,000 bonds after being arrested late Sunday for stealing copper pipe from a school undergoing construction.

At about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Waukegan police responded to an alarm at Glen Flora School at Glen Flora and Jackson, a statement from police said. Officers found two men inside the building, one of whom was immediately taken into custody, while the other fled but was apprehended a short time later.

It appeared the suspects were attempting to gather and steal copper pipe from the area of the school that was under construction, police said.

Dino D. Davis, 19; and Quintin C. Rouser, also 19, later confessed to the burglary, as well as burglarizing the same school and stealing copper piping during a previous incident in June, according to police.

Police say Rouser also confessed to stealing copper pipe from Hyde Park School in Waukegan back in March. The approximate total value of the pipe that was stolen is more than $2,000.

Davis was charged with two counts of burglary, while Rouser was charged with three counts. Both are being held at the Lake County Jail.
