CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are warning South Shore businesses of an increase in armed robberies of delivery men this month.

The suspects order takeout food from local restaurants, then two men approach the deliverymen upon arrival and rob then at gunpoint, according to a community alert from Area Central detectives.

Both robberies happened near the 7400 block of South Paxton Avenue, police said.

The suspects are described as 24- to 30-year-old black men armed with a silver pistol or blue steel revolver, police said. They are about 5-feet-9 to 6-feet and 140 to 200 pounds.

One man has short hair and the other has an Afro, police said.
