Brian Banks' accused ordered to pay $2.6 million

Posted: Updated:

The woman who falsely accused a high school football star of rape has been ordered to pay the state of California $2.6 million.

Wanetta Gibson was awarded a cash settlement years ago from the Long Beach Unified School District after accusing Brian Banks of rape.

Gibson has since admitted to lying.

A judge has now ordered Gibson to pay back $2.6 million. That includes the settlement, interest, and attorneys' fees.

Banks signed with the Atlanta Falcons back in April.
