Chicago bride claims her husband forced her to be a sex slave

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

It's not a typical case for the Dirksen Building. No racketeering, no bribery, no politicians. Instead, it's a Gold Coast woman claiming her new husband forced her to engage in kinky sex and a master-slave relationship.

In a civil lawsuit, Kimberly O'Brien claims that her honeymoon 8 years ago was anything but a honeymoon. The 52-year-old Chicago woman testified Tuesday that after an on and off relationship with Wisconsin businessman Kevin Anderson, which included an abortion, she married him.

In tears, she told the jury, it was the biggest mistake of my life every being with him." During their honeymoon, she claims, he forced her to engage in violent sex. She admits she consented to being blindfolded, but says Anderson punched her, beat her with a whip, and left her tied up for hours.

Her attorney told the jury that Anderson whispered into his new wife's ear, "If you are a good slave this will never happen again."

O'Brien also claims that Anderson had even researched the rules for master-slave sexual relationships. Defense attorney Charles Cole told the jury the evidence will show that there was no sexual abuse and any remaining sexual antics were consensual.

"Our defense is that many of the allegations did not occur, did not occur in the manner described by the plaintiff," Cole said.

In pretrial motions, the defense asked permission to tell the jury that O'Brien had once been a prostitute. The judge said no, but the defense did tell the jury that O'Brien had frequently traveled to meet men for business purposes.

Technically, O'Brien's claims are for intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment, assault and battery, sexual assault and negligence.

Her lawsuit doesn't name a dollar figure but in other documents there's reportedly talk of asking for $10 million in damages.
