Man, woman wounded in Uptown shooting

A man and woman were wounded in a Monday afternoon shooting in the Uptown neighborhood.

The 21-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were shot about 3:25 p.m. in the 4800 block of North Sheridan Road, police said.

The man was shot in the knee and the woman was shot in the knee and shoulder, according to Fire Media Affairs.

The pair were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in "stable" condition, the fire department said.

The door of a cell phone store in a mini mall and the window of a mini van parked in the lot appeared to be shot out. Police on the scene were investigating bullet casings outside a nearby dollar store and another on the street.

Area North detectives are investigating.
