Learn about alternative energy with Argonne Lab`s Green Racing Simulator!

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Good Day got a taste of science at the Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont Monday morning, where they've unveiled their Green Racing Simulator to teach kids about alternative energy.

The Chicago Council on Science and Technology partnered with Argonne to enhance public understanding of regional alternative energy research and promote hands-on engagement with the findings. Executive Director Erin Dragotto explained how people can learn from the research and apply it to their daily lives.

The Green Racing Simulator is a fun way to do just that. Argonne Energy Systems Research Engineer Forrest Jehlik works to find practical ways to reduce people's carbon footprints and ensure energy security for our planet. One way to help kids understand how to do this is to use the example of race cars. The simulator shows drivers how they can operate using alternative energy and be good for the environment.

From the look of things at the Lemont lab on Monday, it's a very cool way to learn!
