Police investigate body found on Edens frontage road near Wilmette

Posted: Updated:

The mutter family home was deemed a crime scene as detectives spent the day inside.

Neighbors wonder if a burglary at this home last month may have had anything to do with 20 year old Collin Nutter's murder.

Nutter's body was spotted by A dog-walker at approximately 8:30 Monday night in Wilmette, near the Edens Expressway.  His body was found in the brush on the east side of Frontage Road, south of Old Glenview Road and Briar Drive.

Police say there were obvious signs of trauma.

There were no signs of Nutter's parents at their home on the 900 block of Harvard court in Highland Park.  A sign asking for privacy was posted on their front door.  Throughout the evening there were visitors walking in and out of the home, however they made no comment.

Many in the close knit community saying they will be here to support the Nutter's through this tragedy.

Police are investigating Nutter's death as a murder, with help from the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force. Anyone with information should call the task force tip line at (847) 853-7580, or Wilmette police at (847) 256-1200.
