WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

Officials canceled classes in the West Bloomfield School District Thursday due to power problems at four of the district's nine buildings.

Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Labor Relations Rick Arnett says the decision was made to close the entire district and send students home just after 7 a.m.

DTE officials tell FOX 2 around 900 customers were without power at the time as a result of an equipment problem at a nearby substation.

They expect power to be restored to all residents by noon.
