CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

An 11-month-old girl was in "stable" condition at an area hospital Tuesday morning after she was ejected from an SUV during an auto accident in the River North neighborhood.

The infant was ejected about 2:10 a.m., after a semi-truck blew a red light in the 600 block of North Dearborn Street, striking the SUV that she was a passenger in, said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

The infant, who was being held by a female in the back seat of the SUV at the time of collision, was in "stable" condition at Lurie Children's Hospital, police said.

No citations had been issued as of 4:30 a.m. as the crash remained under investigation.
