Authorities are searching for two men who forced their way into a Clayton County home.
Maria Torres is terrified after two men broke into her home while her 17-year old daughter and 3-year old son were inside.
"I'm just worried that they're going to come back, I'm just worried that anything could have happened to my daughter, anything could have happened to my son," Torres said.
Torres says men have been knocking on doors in the community, asking neighbors if they want their yards cut. They came yesterday and her oldest son answered.
"My son is like, ‘Why would you want to cut my grass if it's wet?' So the guys asked my son, ‘Are your parents home? How old are you?'" Torres said.
Then Torres' daughter, Jasmine, says the men came back on Wednesday and knocked on the door. After she didn't answer, they walked around to the back and kicked the door in. When she heard the noise, she ran into the living room.
"So I came to check and the door was busted open. They were already inside," Jasmine Torres said. "I reacted and I yelled, ‘What are you doing in my house?' And I guess they were shocked I was here."
She says the men took her iPod and ran away. She called Clayton County police and they dusted for fingerprints.
The mother says she's not only concerned for her children's safety. She's also upset, wondering if her home was targeted. Her husband is deployed and up until this afternoon, she had a yellow ribbon hanging on their front door.
"I decided to take it down because you know, I just don't want people to think, ‘Oh, you know her husband's deployed, he's not home.' so it will give them an easier way to try to come in and do something to us," said Maria Torres.
Clayton County police are searching for the two home invaders. They believe one of the suspects was wearing a blue and white hoodie and that the other young man was wearing an orange or red baseball cap.
Anyone with information on is asked to contact the Clayton County Police Department.
